The Health And Wellbeing Trust

Who are we?

At the Health and Wellbeing Trust (HWT), we believe that true wellbeing comes from a balance of mind, body, and spirit. As a registered charity, our mission is to make integrative, evidence-based healthcare more accessible, equitable, and impactful for everyone.

We aim to provide services nationally across the UK and our head office is located in South West England (Bristol)

Our Services

Clinical Bursary Program

We offer financial support to those with life-changing illness to access Integrative Services through our vetted list of providers who are available nationally through digital offerings.

Educational Bursary Program

We offer financial support to Healthcare Professionals and Students seeking to learn more about Integrative Medicine through approved educational programs to ensure that cost is never a barrier to accessing life-changing education.

Community Projects

Initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes and promoting wellbeing at a local and national level. Our community projects work with all communities who have a desire to increase health and wellbeing.

What is Integrative Medicine

Integrative Medicine combines conventional, lifestyle, functional, and holistic approaches in a collaborative way to support overall health and wellbeing. It emphasises a respectful partnership between different medical and therapeutic disciplines.

This evidence-based approach focuses on treating the whole person rather than just addressing specific symptoms. It promotes wellness, resilience, and vitality while helping to restore balance, optimise health, and lower the risk of disease. A key aspect of Integrative Medicine is empowering individuals to take an active role in their wellbeing through self-care.

By offering a wider range of options, Integrative Medicine enhances choice for both patients and healthcare professionals. Patients feel more informed and in control of their health, while practitioners gain a deeper sense of purpose and are better equipped to provide comprehensive care. It does not replace conventional medical care but works alongside it, offering an integrative healthcare approach to enhance overall health outcomes.

As a whole-person model that considers mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, Integrative Medicine has the potential to become a key part of mainstream healthcare in the future—but it’s also something we can all embrace today.

Feedback from our service users

Until my stage 4 cancer diagnosis I had worked full time running my own small non for profit organisation and working as a freelancer.  Due to my health situation I am now unable to work and am dependent on benefits to support me.  I never imagined that this level of illness would happen to me in my 40s and was not prepared for the financial, emotional and physical implications of an advanced cancer diagnosis.  I am extremely grateful for the NHS support I receive, but am very aware of other support that could really benefit my outcomes and quality of life and this bursary has enabled me to access mistletoe therapy consultation so that I can try this evidence based treatment at an affordable rate for my current economic situation.  I am truly thankful for this support and the opportunity to access such a supportive expert to help me on my journey.

Leila

I am so grateful for this bursary which is enabling me to access mistletoe therapy which I feel is an important part of my secondary cancer treatment when faced with the limitations of standard care.  It means I will be able to continue with this invaluable treatment for a longer period of time which therefore gives me a better quality of life.
